Short list on purpose. Each of these is here because a tool from them is on someone's bench in this building, not because a distributor offered terms.
Our house label. Sourced from the same European and Taiwanese factories that supply better-known names, with our tolerances specified.
Sheffield, England. Turning tools since 1828. Long handles, honest M2 and powdered-metal steel, flute geometry that doesn't catch.
Italy. Micro-grain carbide, distinctive orange PTFE coating that genuinely reduces pitch buildup. Our default router bit line.
Czech Republic. Chrome-manganese steel at 59 HRc, hornbeam handles, brass ferrules. The best value in bench chisels anywhere, full stop. Arrives ground, not honed.
Claremont, North Carolina. Made in the USA, ground to tolerances that professional shops verify with dial indicators. Not cheap, never disappointing.
Abrasives that hold their grit longer than the price difference suggests.
American carbide-insert turning tools. Rotate the cutter, keep going, no sharpening. Ideal if you turn occasionally.
Florida. Push blocks and the GRR-Ripper. Safety gear that people who still have all ten fingers tend to own.
Ontario, Canada. Stock guides and router lifts machined to a standard that makes cheaper equivalents feel like castings.
Sheffield. The last real English saw works. Hand-set teeth, brass-backed tenon saws, beech handles.
